Commonly known as a trance-like state, hypnosis can be viewed as a “frame of mind” that allows you to feel completely relaxed while presently aware of your surroundings. If you’ve ever daydreamed while engaging in an activity, you were in a hypnotic state! Everyone goes into hypnosis naturally, so there’s no denying that you can be hypnotized in a therapeutic setting.

Is hypnosis safe?

Will I be stuck in hypnosis?

Hypnosis is ABSOLUTELY safe! Remember, all hypnosis is SELF hypnosis. You cannot be made to say or do anything you wouldn’t typically say or do in your normal waking state. The power lies within YOU, so when you’re ready to come out of hypnosis, you can always find your way back to your most consciously aware self.

While in a therapeutic session, you will always be aware of your surroundings. You will always be counted up and out of the state of hypnosis before you return back to your normal schedule.

Can I be hypnotized without

my consent?

No. Never. Hypnosis requires your cooperation and willingness to participate. You cannot be hypnotized against your will or without your knowledge. Hypnosis is NOT a form of mind control or manipulation.

How long does a hypnotherapy

appointment take?

Prepare for the initial session to last anywhere from 60-90 minutes. Each subsequent session usually lasts approximately 55 minutes.

How many sessions will it

take to start noticing changes?

This answer depends on the client. Understandably, many of us hold old habits and behaviors that have been with us our entire lives, where sincere commitment to our growth is necessary to overcome an old way of thinking.

Hypnosis is a scientifically proven phenomenon that can help break down resistance to change, and it takes cooperation between the client and the therapist to facilitate positive shifts unique to each client. With this in mind, every prospective client should consider that no two treatment plans are the same, but most clients find that subtle shifts begin to occur the moment the first session is complete.
